Residential Building nears Completion

October, 2010

Up the hill from ICMI's classroom/office building, a new project is nearing completion.

This multi-purpose building snugs itself into a hillside, providing a home for principal on the top level. A separate driveway leads to the lower level, where three units will receive our guests and visiting teachers.

The final Tenancy and Development Agreements are being inked in between the Uganda Christian University and ICMI. These documents lay out the responsibilities and privileges of the partners regarding the building.

The Uganda Christian University and ICMI have each paid half of the construction costs. ICMI's half is essentially a pre-paid lease on the building for 25 years. Uganda Christian University owns the building, and is free to rent out space to other users when ICMI does not need it.

BUT WE STILL NEED FUNDS!

While the residential building is essentially paid for, there remains a need to furnish the guestrooms to make them comfortably liveable. In the past visiting teachers have been accommodated in commercial situations, which often are expensive and distant from the campus. An amount of $15,000 dollars is required to furnish the units.
