For the past 20 years, her work has been with older adults in Victoria. She has been an ICMI member for over 10 years and travelled several times to Uganda to do ICMI-related work. |
![]() Robert Lake - Vice PresidentBob Lake is a retired scientist and manager at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, Sidney BC. Bob and his wife Barbara spent a few months in Africa with ICMI where Bob taught organizational development as part of a Diploma course. Also a director of SAMS Canada, Bob has mission experience in Honduras. |
![]() Carl Garry - PrincipalProfessor Carl Garry graduated from York University in 1980 with his PhD in organizational sociology. Carl taught sociology and administration at three Canadian universities. He was Associate Dean Academic at Atkinson College, York University. Carl is the author of one book, and co-editor of another. He has published numerous papers. One of the founding members of ICMI, Carl visits Uganda each year to assist with teaching and training. |
![]() Anita Hadley - Deputy PrincipalAnita received her B.A. (History) from the University of British Columbia and her M.Ed. (Administration) from the University of Victoria. She was Head of Second Language Training at Royal Roads Military College where she developed curricula and taught both French and English as second languages for the Ministry of National Defence. She has published two books, Gens de Chez Nous (Irwin) and Life Through a Lens (McGill Queens). With her husband, Michael, she has co-taught a Humanities course and two Ethics courses for ICMI in Uganda. She plans to return to Uganda in January 2010 to teach a newly-developed Humanities course for ICMI. She is a parishioner of Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria. |
![]() Loraine Spencer-Garry - SecretaryLoraine taught at three Canadian universities and served as a consultant to the' Federal government. She is the author of three books. Loraine is a founding member of ICMI and member of the ICMI Board. She has been going to Uganda to teach every year since 1992. A committed Christian, Loraine is a member, reader and administrant at St. George's Church, Cadboro Bay, Victoria. |
![]() Nigel Lomas - TreasurerNigel spent his career working in solid waste management with a background in groundwater and hydrology. A Christian since 1994, Nigel is active in church life with Glad Tidings Church - Victoria where he is currently the board secretary. Nigel has served as treasurer since joining ICMI in 2001. |
![]() Garry Wicket - Member at LargeGarry retired after working as a medical social worker at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for nineteen years. His concern for developing nations began as a youth when he worked in a first nations community. It also took him with his wife Adele to India under Canadian University Service Overseas in 1965. On the ICMI board, he has taken responsibility for producing the newsletter (with Adele's help) since 1999. He is an active member of Saanich Community Church. |
![]() Cedric Trueman - Member at LargeCedric is a semi-retired professional engineer, with expertise in heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems for buildings. His working career was in the B.C. Public Service, including 20 years with the British Columbia Buildings Corporation. He is a long-time member of St. George's Anglican Church in Victoria, and has been a member of ICMI since 1995, and has worked on the Building and Nomination Committees while on the Board. |
